Ever wanted to know what the inside an army truck looks like? Or what if feels like to wear a bomb-proof suit? Comet Bay College students got a taste of life as a Defence personnel or First Responder at our latest Career Expo last week.
Representatives from WA Police, Department of Corrections, SES, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the Army, Navy and Defence Recruiting were on hand to talk about the range of job opportunities available for young people within their organisation and showcase some really cool gear, including underwater drones, rescue pups and combat gear.
Students were able to inspect a fire truck, emergency SES vehicles, an Army tanker, police vehicles, prison riot gear and equipment from the specialist Navy Clearance Divers.
Year 10, 11 and 12 students who registered for the Incursion also enjoyed a speed-careering presentation and exclusive engagement with the guest speakers and their displays.
