Four Comet Bay College students are preparing for a career in the Australian Defence Force, and will soon be adding their photo to our Australian Military History Museum Hall of Honour.
Ben Agnew (Year 11) has successfully secured a role as an Army Combat Engineer, following in his brother’s footsteps, who enlisted as an Army Marine Specialist in 2020. He will be joined by Ben Wiggins (Year 12) who will become an Army Fitter Armament. They will both enlist later this year.
Year 12 student Georgia Couzens has been recommended for a Navy Gap Year, and Student Captain Latrell Wamae (Year 12) is the recommended candidate for a role as Air Force Air Surveillance Operator.
The College farewelled two Year 12 students earlier this year to roles in the ADF – Alex Amos-Harris enlisted as an Army Vehicle Mechanic and Sam Campopiano is an Infantry Soldier in the Australian Army.
Defence School Mentor Claire Hunt said it was wonderful to see students pursue their dreams.
“We wish them good luck through their training and hope the paths they have chosen prove rewarding,” she said.
