Students interested in an Air Force career were invited to a Pilot Graduation Ceremony at RAAF Base Pearce recently.
RAAF Base Pearce is WA’s main Royal Australian Air Force military air base.
The students watched on as the state’s newest recruits proudly marched onto the parade ground to receive their ‘wings’.
They were also treated to an impressive aerial acrobatics show by one of RAAF’s highly trained pilots, as well as a five PC-21 aircraft flypast at low altitude over the audience.
The students enjoyed a session with the Paper Pilots, which is part of the 100th Anniversary of RAAF activities, teaching students about aerodynamics and encouraging them to “test, learn and adapt”.
Students then visited the Aviation Heritage Museum in Bullcreek where there was a huge array of planes and equipment, including a WW2 Lancaster Bomber.
The excursion was a great opportunity for students interested in this career pathway.
