Comet Bay College’s Barista Academy has reopened for the year, serving delicious beverages and food to staff before school and at recess three days a week.
The Academy is run by Home Economics teacher Darcy Harry and a team of dedicated Year 10, 11 and 12 students.
It teaches students a host of important life skills, including teamwork, leadership opportunities, and collaboration in the workplace, as well as work-ready skills such as money management, customer service, commercial cleaning requirements, stock management and competing order forms.
“No experience is required for students to join,” Miss Harry said. “We do all the training required so anyone from Year 10-12 can apply.”
The Barista Academy is an endorsed program.
