Year 9 students got a taste of career opportunities available to them during Comet Bay College’s Careers Expo 2022 this week.
The speed-career format gave students a chance to meet up to 45 professionals from a wide range of industries, including local government, mining, nursing, defence, fashion and more.
Careers Practitioner Katy Vipond said the event challenged students to consider job opportunities they may not have heard about.
“We put a call out earlier this year to see if people would share their career journey with our students, and were overwhelmed by the support we received from big business, sole traders and entrepreneurs,” she said.
“It was wonderful to have so many individuals, including Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin, answer questions from students wanting to know more about the jobs they do. It was an insightful event for all involved.”
