Comet Bay College won the fourth annual STEM Olympiad last week, taking home the trophy for the second year running.
The College hosted the interschool contest this year, with Year 7-10 students from Ridge View Secondary College, John Tonkin College and Coastal Lakes College on campus to test their skills against our STEM Academy students in five different activities – a Lego robot battle, model gilder competition, bottle rocket contest, dragster race and Masterchef-inspired cook-off.
Our talented students dominated in the kitchen and with the gliders, with Ridge View Secondary College winning the dragsters, Coastal Lakes College taking out the robot battle and John Tonkin College placing first in the rocket challenge.
The STEM Olympiad is an initiative of the Southern Corridor Technologies PACT Group – a group of 11 schools from Atwell to Halls Head who have run interschool STEM competitions since 2017.
Congratulations to all participants.
