Donations have started to roll in for Comet Bay College’s annual Christmas Hamper drive.
The drive will create much-needed relief for families doing it tough this Christmas, with the hampers distributed to both College families facing hardship and members of our local community, courtesy of the Salvation Army.
Staff, students and community members are being encourage to dig deep and donate non-perishable items such as meal kits, tinned fruit and vegetables and sweet and savoury snacks, as well as toiletries, cleaning products, baby needs and Christmas decorations.
Associate Dean of Technologies Theresa Walsh is coordinating the drive, alongside our College chaplains.
“The generosity of staff and students who have contributed so far has been amazing,” Ms Walsh said. “Just one item per student would create enough hampers to make a huge impact to those less fortunate this Christmas.”
Students can drop their goods to the library, with community members invited to donate to Comet Bay College’s Administration Office.
