Our Year 9 students are learning about global supply chains in Economics and participated in a hands-on activity demonstrating how countries must work together to make chocolate.
Divided into teams representing countries, the classes worked to produce a range of bars from the supply of raw materials, through the manufacturing process, marketing and advertising and finally their distribution. Each group was only allowed to start their process upon the completion of the previous stage.
“The activity highlighted the importance of teamwork and how obstacles can impact the supply chain,” teacher Sofwaana Abdul Jamil said. “It created a very visual reconstruction of real-world supply issues.”
