Top Mathematicians Recognised

Eight of our clever mathematicians have received certificates of Distinction for their impressive efforts in the recent 2021 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC).
The AMC is an engaging, 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives.
Congratulations to Year 7s Maia Hughes, Ronan Pryer and Ansuman Shrestha, Year 8s Antony Scarparo, Jake New, Max Pereira and Liam Gallagher-Martin and Year 9 student Joseph Tyrrell for achieving Distinctions.
A further nine students were awarded certificates of Credit.
Dean of Mathematics Michelle Wood said the results showed a high number of students with an aptitude for advanced mathematics and problem-solving skills.
“They are well deserved as they reflect the hard work done by students and staff throughout the year,” she said.
