Entrepreneurs in the Making

Future entrepreneurs within our Year 8 and 9 cohort spent a day working on their business ideas last week as part of a nation-wide student tournament.
Generation Entrepreneur has partnered with Finder to deliver the School Entrepreneur of the Year competition – the first of its kind in Australia.
The tournament gave our GAT and STEM Academy students an opportunity to practice their critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills while virtually speaking with experienced, Sydney-based mentors.
Two teams from Comet Bay College have advanced to Round 2 where they will compete against other students in the state to further develop their products and ideas. Congratulations to Kobi Turvey, Phoebe Prouse, Michael Pierce, Lexie Richardson, Liam Killeen and Lara Hill for their Pog Dog pitch, and Vaanya Agarwal, Georgie Jones, Ruby Jamieson, Tilly Deering and Julia Farruggio for their OrganiseIT idea.
Ten teams from this round will then go into the national final where they will be in the running for the title of School Entrepreneur of the Year, a share in the $1500 prize pool and industry-level mentoring to help their ideas grow.
Good luck to all students involved!
