About 40 guitar students from Comet Bay College and Safety Bay Senior High School teamed up to perform at the OPUS Concert at Perth Concert Hall on Monday night.
The group, who named themselves the Bay Bay Ensemble, wowed the crowd with their renditions of Lunar Silhouette, Sapphire Beach and Billie Jean.
They were coached by Instrumental Music School Services’ teachers Stephen East and Caroline Binsted.
It was the first time the two schools have collaborated and was Comet Bay College’s debut at the OPUS Concert.
IMSS Principal Bruce Herriman said the students should be congratulated for their efforts and conduct throughout the day’s long rehearsals and the night’s stellar concert.
“The performance was of a very high standard and demonstrated evidence of excellent teaching,” he said.
“The repertoire selected was perfect for this concert and the students maintained a high level of concentration for all three pieces.”
