HASS Students Make Biome Dioramas

Cardboard boxes have been transformed into rainforests, arctic landscapes and beaches as part of a Year 9 HASS enrichment diorama project.
The students have been studying biomes as part of their Geography curriculum.
HASS Associate Dean Michelle Statham said the assessment gave students an opportunity to demonstrate their research and knowledge about their chosen habitat while working on a hands-on project.
“Rather than just putting pen to paper, these students got to recreate the environment they had studied using a range of materials,” Ms Statham said. “This hands-on learning provided an engaging activity that produced some very detailed, 3D models.”
