Do you know what happens when you mix magnesium with hydrochloric acid? Our Year 10 students discovered the answer during a fun experiment earlier this week.
Science teacher Laura Ellam watched over as students recorded the different reaction rates when magnesium ribbons were mixed with varying concentrations of hydrochloric acid.
“Learning by doing is often a lot more effective for students, and this experiment provided a chance for them to see the chemical reactions taking place in from of them,” Miss Ellam said.
