There were squeals of joy when two cute visitors joined our Year 11 General Children, Family and Community students last Friday.
Aqua and Spice, two rescue Western Grey joeys, visited thanks to charity group Bluegum.
Home Economics teacher Julie Coyle said the incursion gave students a greater understanding of the impact of the recent bushfire crisis sweeping across Australia.
“Our students will be making pouches for joeys as part of their upcoming care project,” Mrs Coyle said.
“It was a great opportunity for the students to get some hands-on experience with the joeys, feeding and holding them and learning more about their needs. This gives greater meaning to their donation of pouches.”
