Comet Bay College recorded the highest 2019 median ATAR results in the region, topping all private and public schools in Rockingham, Kwinana and Mandurah.
The College scored an impressive 80.9 – the best result in the school’s history – which was just shy of the 81.05 needed to be named among the Top 50 schools in the state.
The College’s Gifted and Talented cohort earned a median score of 92.05.
Principal Jamie Hayres said the scores reflected the hard work and dedication of the 2019 graduates and the College’s staff.
“It was a collective effort and everyone at the College should be very proud,” Mr Hayres said.
“To be the top-achieving secondary school in the region is certainly worthy of celebration.”
Thirteen Comet Bay College students were awarded with School Curriculum and Standards Authority Awards, including a VET Certificate of Excellence, two Certificates of Distinction and 10 Certificates of Merit.
“We are committed to giving our students every opportunity to reach their full potential and we will continue to strive for excellence,” Mr Hayres said.
“Congratulations to all students on their outstanding achievements. We look forward another successful year in 2020.”
