Two Comet Bay College teams progressed to the finals of the Scholl Sports WA Champion Schools Touch Rugby Tournament recently, making it the College’s most successful bid for the titles.
Health and Physical Education teacher Dana Matai said two out of the College’s three teams which entered the tournament remained undefeated in the pool rounds, heading straight to the quarter-finals.
“Our upper school team and our Year 8-10 team played very competitive touch rugby and were rewarded with win after win,” she said.
“Our Year 8 team also made us proud with their determination.
“It was great to see two teams from Comet Bay College in the finals – that has never happened before.”
Both Comet Bay College teams lost in the finals to specialist rugby and touch football schools, but Dana said it wasn’t without a fight.
“I congratulate all the boys who took part and gave it their all on the day,” she said.
