Student representatives attended the Remembrance Day Service at Flinders Memorial Park in Rockingham on November 11, 2019. Year 12 Student Ethan Lamont did an excellent job performing the ‘Last Post’ and ‘Rouse’ as part of ceremony formalities.
Ben Wiggins, Shaydon May and Kyle Richardson assisted with Flag bearing duties and Tyron Powles and Erin Ward laid a wreath on behalf of the college.
The service was attended by WW2 veterans, including 101-year-old RAAF Veteran Jim Forster and 97-year-old RAAF veterans Ted and Phyl Properjohn, among others.
Following the ceremony, students visited the Gary Holland Community Centre to see the Remembrance display which was collated by their peers.
College graduate Marli-Jay Robertson and her mother volunteered to help the RSL Rockingham sell poppies down at Secret Harbour Square Shopping Centre.
Thanks go to everyone who participated in Remembrance activities this year, both at the college and within our community.
