Nikita Dillon (Year 8) won first prize at the Art Sprint Competition in November 2019, taking home $100 for her digital creation, Quiet Desperation.
The Mandurah competition and exhibition was open to all artists aged 10 to 18 years, showcasing a range of mediums, including drawing/sketching, photography, digital media, sculpture, ceramics and craft.
It was the first time Nikita had ever entered an art award and she said was shocked by the win.
“I was really surprised, but happy,” she said.
“I wasn’t expecting to win at all. There were a lot of really good pieces there, from paintings to pottery.
“It was a really inspiring exhibition.”
Nikita’s artwork was on display at Sarah’s Circle Holistic Hub in Mandurah.
Congratulations, Nikita!
