HMAS Stirling submariners received an early Christmas gift in September when Comet Bay College students delivered vibrant laundry bags to the Garden Island Naval Base.
Our Year 10 Textile students were treated to a submarine tour in exchange for the gifts.
Associate Dean of Technologies, Nikki French, said Comet Bay College had been making laundry bags for Navy personnel for several years and it was an important tradition to continue.
“It provides a creative outlet for our students while reminding them of the importance of giving to others,” she said.
“The HMAS Stirling submariners will not be home for Christmas this year, so giving them something from home was important.
“They do so much for our country, making these laundry bags was a small way our students could say thanks.”
