Comet Bay College had the honour of welcoming Senior Sergeant Tim Britten CV to our school on Wednesday. Year 11 students were inspired by his personal story and encouragement to persevere through adversity, to achieve their goals.
Senior Sergeant Britten was awarded the Cross of Valour on 17 October 2003 for displaying the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme peril.
This award is Australia’s highest civilian bravery decoration and Senior Sergeant Britten is one of only 5 Australians to receive this award since 1975.
He was joined by Sergeant Darren Slyns and presented to the Year 11 Assembly run by the Positive Culture Team. We are thankful for their service to our greater community and appreciate them taking the time to visit our college.
