Fruit & Veg Week at Comet Bay College
Comet Bay celebrated Fruit and Veg Week again this year, by promoting the message of eating 5 serves of Vegetables per day and 2 pieces of fruit to the students at recess and lunch times.
This was made possible by the donation of fruit and vegetables by Woolworths at Secret Harbour. The fruit and vegetables were very fresh and tasty.
18 platters of fruit were prepared into mouth size pieces by the Health Committee members and 20 watermelon pizzas were donated and made by Nadine Roadin who is the Health Promotion Officer of the South Metropolitan Population Health Unit .200 Fruit Berry smoothies were also made and were embraced and enjoyed by the students.
We would also like to thank the Home Ec department, especially Jen Wipou and Julie Coyle, and all the other helpers involved in this great health promotions event.
