Comet Bay College participated in its first big sporting event for 2015 on Wednesday March 11th as students travelled to HBF stadium to compete in the “C” division Inter-school Swimming Championships.
The strong team of 65 students set off at 7.00am for a day of swimming and cheering as they battled hard against six other schools.
Comet Bay had a tricky start with high anticipation but quickly began getting the results they wanted and at the first check were fourth overall.
Students were faultless on the day showing great maturity and commitment as they helped out fellow team mates and filled in for those that were missing. They cheered on through each race and finished the day with strong performances in the relays, ending in overall sixth position and only just missing out on fifth.
Some stand-out performers recognised at the carnival were:-
• Roxy Came (Year 7) – Runner-up Champion Girl
• Arnet Tolofua (Year 11) – Runner-up Champion Girl
• Blake Good (Year 11) – Runner-up Champion Boy
Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to staff members Jess Michelson, Kylie Windle and Steve Thomson for their support and efforts on the day. Good luck for next year!
