About 40 guitar students from Comet Bay College and Safety Bay Senior High School will team up to perform at the OPUS Concert at Perth Concert Hall in June and the Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival in August.
Rehearsals are underway, led by Instrumental Music School Services’ Stephen East and SBSHS’s music teacher Caroline Binsted. The ensemble hopes to impress with its performances of Lunar Silhouette, Sapphire Beach and Billie Jean.
It is the first time the two schools have collaborated and will be Comet Bay College’s debut at the OPUS Concert.
Comet Bay College’s ensemble was previously awarded ‘Excellent’ from 2014-2016 and ‘Outstanding’ in 2017 and 2018 at the WA Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival.
