A group of our finest athletes travelled to Perth recently to compete in the School Sport WA Interschool Athletics Carnival at HBF Stadium, and their impressive efforts in both track and field events earned the College 6th place overall.
Four of our students were awarded for their individual performances – Zachary Sarsero was named Year 7 Runner up Champion Boy, Skye Bowron won Year 9 Champion Girl, Tahlee Cale was named Year 10 Runner up Champion Girl and Sebastian Wickham was crowned Year 12 Champion Boy.
Health and Physical Education Associate Dean Gillian Hassan said the College’s Year 7-12 interschool athletics team, led by captains Sebastian Wickham and Lucia Groves, competed in more than 180 events throughout the day and showed great dignity and exceptional behaviour.
“There was a lot of encouragement and cheering from the stands and Comet Bay College can certainly be proud of the individual and team results,” she said.
“Thank you to the team and our upper school helpers for another successful carnival.”
