Big Freeze at Comet Bay College

There were plenty of team colours and beanies on show last Friday as students threw their support behind our FightMND Foundation fundraiser.
The ‘Footy Colours and Beanies for MND’ event raised almost $3000 for the charity, which is fighting for a cure for Motor Neuron Disease.
Big Freeze 6 beanies were sold by our Year 10 Football boys in the lead up to the event and Health and Physical Education teacher Sam Mainwaring thanked all staff and students for their support.
“It was fantastic to see how quickly they were snapped up,” he said.
“We motivated the students to get behind this fundraiser by promising a Big Freeze-inspired event and they certainly enjoyed taking aim at the teachers in the dunk tank.
“It was a great event for a worthy cause.”
A big thank you to the staff who put their hands up for dunking – Mick Churchman, Jonny Dixon, Pauline Schutz, Matthew Piggott, Ben Jahn, Alissa Hillman, Matthew Bogensperger, Riley Patten-Williams and Sam Mainwaring.
