Remembrance Day 2019

WHAT DOES REMEMBRANCE DAY MEAN TO YOU?

Year 12 student Conner Siekman has reflected on the importance of Remembrance Day in a special video project being exhibited at various locations throughout Rockingham this month.

Connor interviewed students, teachers, veterans and serving military personnel for the production, which he also edited.

Our Defence School Mentor Claire Hunt said Connor had spent several months working on the video, which she described as a touching tribute.

“The video was made as a way to encourage reflection on Remembrance Day, fostering an ethos of appreciation of the service of our Australian Defence Force and honouring those who have paid the supreme sacrifice,” Claire said.

Connor’s video is being shown alongside our Remembrance Photo Project exhibitions at the Secret Harbour Square Shopping Centre and the Gary Holland Community Centre until November 14.

Special thanks to all involved in the video production, especially serving members CPO Lisa Turner and RAN Chaplain Lynette Emery and veterans Minister for Defence Issues Paul Papalia CSC MLA, Mick Ryan and David Singer.
