A group of our Year 9 students donned detective hats last week when they worked to solve a mystery in their Criminology class.
The students had fun recording and analysing their peers’ fingerprints, lifting prints from surfaces for evidence collection and studying handwriting samples.
Teacher Emilie Ingate said the project was engaging for all.
“Our students had to study the slope, size and heaviness of handwriting samples, while considering grammar and spelling to be able to decipher which suspect wrote the ransom note,” she said.
“We have been studying fingerprint analysis for a while, so it was great for them all to have a closer look at their own prints as well.”
