Teacher Shabana Tagore hosted an exciting Bake-Off with her Year 11 Food Science & Technology class as part of their assessment. Students were invited to be an exhibitor in a local cookery competition centred on flour-based products.
The food was to be cooked using a dry technique, such as baking and dry/shallow frying and must focus on a staple food product like wheat flour.
They were given 40 minutes to produce their baked item for a judging panel. Recipes were selected following a blind draw from the following categories:
Scones
Pikelets
Cup Cakes
Mini Muffins
Choux Pastry.
