On Friday, December 8 , the ‘Warrior’ Program wrapped up their course with the special event involving the Royal Australian Navy! Two groups of students – one from Year 7 and one from Year 8 – went toe-to-toe with six personnel from the RAN in a series of laser skirmish games. The students and personnel also shared a morning tea and lunch together, and students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about team work, discipline, and both the challenges and opportunities that one encounters in the RAN.
The event was the final send-off for students involved in the ‘Warrior’ Program, a special course which working with small student groups to teach a range of topics such as conflict management, emotional regulation, anger management through both teaching and laser skirmish field exercises.
We thank the volunteers from the Royal Australian Navy for their willingness to come to Comet Bay College for such a memorable event. Their guidance and positive mentoring skills were highly valued.
