Several Comet Bay College students supported the State Finals of the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion & Arts (AATFA) Youth Festival by modelling at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on the weekend. This exciting showcase was coordinated by Metro Modelling & Dance Academy.
Emily Galvin (Yr 12), Taylor Richards (Yr 10) and Nell Cooper (Yr 10) modelled extravagant Wearable Art fashion as ‘Moving Mannequins’. They greeted the guests in the foyer of the building before the show and afterwards at the Meet & Greet.
Olivia Webb (Yr12) modelled during the showcase, featuring a wearable art design called “Everlasting Love” made by Louise Wells. This was one of the winners from the 2017 Wearable Art Mandurah (WAM) competition.
We were also delighted to see former Comet Bay College student, Malia Bennett, singing two songs as part of the event entertainment.
Well done to everyone involved. You all did a fantastic job and the State Final Showcase was spectacular!
Students interested in Wearable Art should check out the workshops being run by the City of Mandurah.
