The annual Speed Careering event was held at Comet Bay College on the 30th May.
Once again we invited a great selection of people from trades, businesses and universities. Our aim was to assist our Year 10 students to make informed career choices and the event was timed to help them with their upper school course selections.
The Dean of Vocational and Education Training, Kim Crow commented “Whilst providing an event for close to 300 students is a daunting thought, it all went to plan and the students were so engaged. Our guest speakers were our best yet and the students really enjoyed listening to their informal presentations and asking questions.”
We hope that students consider carefully the courses they choose and just maybe one of the speakers inspired them to try a particular job as they start their career journey.
“The entire Year 10 cohort were engaged talking to a wide range of employers including Engineers, Police, Nurses, Electricians and Hair Stylists” said Associate Principal Mick Churchman.
“It was an impressive event and the students have been giving me really positive feedback” ~ Year 10 Associate Dean Kelly Hulin .
