Our Geographers Awarded Again!

Geography students from Comet Bay College once again tested their geographical skills and knowledge against their peers from all across the nation in the 2022 Australian Geography Competition.
Three of our students received certificates of high distinction. Congratulations to Ronan Pryer in Year 8, Jacob Lazar in Year 11 and Tyler Parker in Year 12.
Geography teacher Mrs Tyrrell said she was pleased with our students’ achievements.
“We have a number of geographers at our school who performed very well in the competition this year, with students gaining high distinctions, distinctions and credits,” she said.
“Nearly 70,000 students from across Australia entered the Australian Geography Competition so the results give us an external benchmark as to how our students are going in certain aspects of geography.”
AGC coordinator Rachel Honey said the competition aimed to boost interest in the subject and reward excellence.
“Geography is such an important subject because it brings together the physical and human dimensions of our environment, helping students to develop a deeper understanding of our world and the challenges it faces,” she said.
Congratulations to all students who participated in the competition.
