Schools Unite to Create ANZAC Display

Comet Bay College teamed up with Secret Harbour Primary School and Comet Bay Primary School last month to create a series of ANZAC displays at Secret Harbour Square.
The College made a stand-alone exhibition featuring a seven-metre Australian Flag, replica bell tent, a 10th Light Horse uniform and a life-size horse mannequin, kindly loaned by the Rockingham 10th Light Horse Troop. Students researched the Australian Light Horse involvement in World War I and their findings were incorporated into the display.
It also created the Lest We Forget sign presented among a sea of poppies.
Former students who have since joined the Australian Defence Force were also honoured in a photo showcase.
Poppies and artwork by students from the participating primary schools were displayed in the windows of many businesses within Secret Harbour Square. There are plans to expand the joint community engagement project in future years to create ANZAC-themed displays at every store in centre.
