Comet Bay College students have received an Outstanding Award for their performance at the recent WA Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival.
The students combined with fellow guitarists from Safety Bay Senior High School to create the Bay Bay Ensemble for this year’s competition.
More than 70 ensembles from public and private schools, UWA and WAAPA participated in the festival and received a Participation, Merit, Excellent or Outstanding Award.
In recent years Comet Bay College has received three Excellent awards and three Outstanding for their classical guitar festival performances.
UWA & WAAPA adjudicators, Associate Professor Jonathon Paget and Dr Melissa Fitzgerald said the performance was well executed, had lots of energy, a rich tone and made for “compelling listening”.
