Learning the Tools of the Trade

A recent Trades Industry Expo gave Comet Bay College students the chance to learn more about different trades and the Registered Training Organisations that support the sector.
The incursion, aimed primarily at Year 11 and 12 students, was part of our ongoing Careers Expo series, delivering opportunities for senior students to mingle with industry professionals.
Career Development Events Coordinator Claire Hunt said the Trades Expo showcased some in-demand job opportunities.
“We encourage our students to be proactive in their approach and use these career expos to engage with our presenters and learn about the different jobs in the market,” she said.
Comet Bay College thanks all the presenters who participated in the expo, including independent waterproof contractor Hayley Bradney, Lachlan Hardy from the Royal Australian Navy, Sharlene Kidd from MPA Skills, Luke Anderson from ABN Group, Peta O’Day from the College of Electrical Training, Arthur Cunningham from South Metropolitan TAFE, Dean Pearson from the Australian Brick and Bricklaying Training Foundation, and Cris Italiano, Rheanna Good and Peter Firth from Bae Systems.
