Our Year 7 students heard important messages about cyber safety during a special presentation by a Mandurah District Police officer last Friday.
Community Engagement Coordinator Sergeant Gary Benzies spoke to students about privacy, respecting relationships, bullying, sexting and crimes associated with sharing content.
He said the ThinkUKnow presentation aimed to make children aware of their digital footprint and how to protect themselves online.
“Children at this age are enjoying a lot of independence online, but with that comes responsibility,” Sgt Benzies said.
“They can find themselves, often unknowingly, in a lot of trouble if they aren’t aware their actions have serious consequences.”
