Year 10 student Indigo Mackenzie is using her love of writing to create a student newsletter.
The online publication will feature a series of articles about youth issues, her peers’ achievements and events around the school.
Indigo, who aspires to be a sports journalist, said the new venture would be a great way to perfect her craft.
“I’ve always loved to write, particularly about things that are happening around me,” she said.
“We don’t have a newspaper at the school, so I’ve decided to start an online newsletter which will give parents, teachers and students the chance to read about what’s going on around the campus from a student’s perspective.
“I’m planning to start writing about our girls’ football team and their achievements.”
Indigo will produce two editions of her newsletter each term.
They will be distributed via the Positive Culture Team (PCT) CONNECT group.
