CBC competes at School Sports WA Basketball Carnival

Comet Bay College students took part in the School Sports WA Lightning Carnival that was held at Mike Barnett Basketball Stadium in Rockingham last week.

The selection process was very competitive and 5 girls and 5 boys were selected from each year group  of the 8 and 9 Basketball extension classes.  Our Girls team played 6 games in total,  winning against Warnbro and Divine Mercy. And the boys team came 2nd overall in the carnival, which advances them through to the next carnival against the best teams in the state.

“Jacob Masterman showed great leadership and work ethic consistently during the games and Bronwyn Marino competed extremely hard all day and displayed excellent skills” – Teacher Ben Smith

“It was an overall great day of basketball with a bunch of awesome, skillful girls to compete with” – Taylah Fissioli  (Year 9)

 “Although we didn’t come out on top we still had fun playing the game we love. Overall we did better than last year., improving our skills. The boys team are continuing on to the next carnival” – Taylah Birch (Year 9)
