Year 11 Geography Excursion

As part of their studies, the Year 11 Geography ATAR class went to Millbrook Winery to see wine production occurring as part of studying wine production and diffusion for Unit 2. Millbrook is an award winning winery located in the hills surrounding Jarrahdale.

The students spent the excursion being toured around the winery by Senior winemaker Damien Hutton. Damien showed the students the vineyards, wine making process and distribution, as well as the cellar and restaurant. Through the tour students learnt about the process of making wine in Australia as well as some of the challenges and rewards of working in the viticulture industry.

The class learnt valuable information that has assisted them with preparation for the end of year exam as well as providing a real-life context to what they have been studying in class.

Thanks go to HASS Teacher Charissa Efthyvoulos for organizing the interesting excursion.
