CBPLC hosts Professor Barrie Bennett

News

Last Friday, Instructional Advocates from the  Comet Bay Professional Learning Community (CBPLC) and other schools were invited to the College to attend a day long workshop as apart of their Advanced Instructional Intelligence Program.

Professor Barrie Bennett is a world renown educator, speaker, author and expert in instructional intelligence. The CBPLC were successful in securing his services during his recent trip to Australia, giving the workshop attendees an insight to his instructional strategies and tactics for adult learning and facilitation, with reflection on how these can also be transferred into the classroom.

“This was a unique opportunity to engage with the internationally renowned Dr Barrie Bennett as he examined how to design learning environments for adults, by integrating multiple instructional methods. Barrie modelled the use of a range of instructional strategies, tactics and concepts that can be used to engage your staff in staff meetings, on School Developments Days and/or delivery of workshops.” Stuart Rutter, Instructional Coach Comet Bay College

Regarded as one of the most foremost thinkers in education, Barrie is an engaging and expert teacher. The workshop was both informative and challenging, and gave participants the insight and tools to ensure all teachers are doing their best for the students in their classrooms.
