Comet Bay College wins National 2013 ANZAC Day Schools Award

Congratulations to Comet Bay College for winning the 2013 ANZAC Day School’s Award for both the State and National competitions!  This is the second consecutive year that Comet Bay College has been awarded the State award and we are proud to have taken home the National award for the first time this year.

The College’s entries featured a short documentary involving local Vietnam veterans, which fostered a very strong relationship between the veterans and the school community.

Senator Glenn Sterle, accompanied by Hon Gary Gray MP, presented the College with both awards, along with a prize cheque for $3,000.

Comet Bay College is most deserving of this award and the $3000 in prize money is recognition of their exceptional entry.  Taking a ‘whole-of-school’ approach to the entry paid off, with a very polished end result.    Mr Gary Gray MP Media Release, 11 July 2013

Thank you to staff and students for an outstanding ANZAC Day Assembly, and a huge thank to you Claire Hunt for her huge efforts in preparing for the assembly and the competition submissions.
